iH8sn0w has been a big player in the jailbreak community for years now, having made contributions to many jailbreaks in the past. Today he has once again lived up to his reputation and delivered video proof of his iOS 10 beta 1 jailbreak.

In the video he shows that Cydia and SSH work perfectly on the device. He also reboots the phone to prove that the jailbreak is untethered, meaning a computer is not required to boot it back up.

The good news is this shows that is is possible to jailbreak iOS 10, giving hope for future jailbreaks. There is some bad news though. Those of you with a keen eye would have noticed in the video that he is using an iPhone 5 to demonstrate this jailbreak. That means it is extremely likely that he used his iBoot exploit to achieve this jailbreak. This is bad news as this exploit is only compatible with 32bit devices, meaning anything newer than the iPhone 5/5c wouldn’t be compatible.

All hope of a new jailbreak is not lost though. An exploit for iOS 9.3.3 and below was recently released to the public by Italian hacker Luca Todesco. This could mean a jailbreak tool for iOS 9.3.3 and below is currently in the works.
