iOS 9.3.2 Browser Based Jailbreak Demoed on Video – iOS 9.3.3 / 9.3.2 / 9.3.1 / 9.3 Jailbreak Status Update

Anyone who has been jailbreaking their iOS devices for a long time will have heard of JailbreakMe. It was by far the simplest way to jailbreak your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad, due to it being browser based. This meant that you could jailbreak your device without even using a computer. All you had to do was open the website in Safari, tap the install button, and within seconds you’d have Cydia on your home screen.

JailbreakMe was last updated in 2011 and is only compatible with select iOS versions up to iOS 4.3.3. Since then it has seemed to most that there would never be another browser based iOS jailbreak. However Italian hacker Luca Tedesco (@qwertyoruiop) has surprised us once again with a video demonstration of an iOS 9.3.2 browser based jailbreak, working in a very similar way to JailbreakMe. This comes just days after he teased his jailbreak for iOS 9.3.3 beta 1 on Twitter.

As exciting as this may seem, we shouldn’t be getting our hopes up. Luca has teased quite a few jailbreaks in the past and has said he has no plans to release them to the public. This may seem like a selfish thing to do, but let’s be honest, he doesn’t owe us anything. He has likely put a lot of effort into finding exploits and developing jailbreaks from them. For this reason there is nothing wrong with him wanting to keep them to himself. If he does not share them, it is unlikely Apple will patch the exploits any time soon. This means he can keep his jailbreak for as long as he likes. Wouldn’t you want to do the same?
